Cool First. Transport Second.

In an emergency, call 911. This tool is for planning and education. It does not replace medical advice. Your athletic trainer and team physician or medical director should review and approve the schedule before you use it.
Your information stays in this browser. Nothing you type is sent to National Stay Cool Day or stored anywhere else.

School and sport

Your school’s name goes on every page of the schedule.

For example, football, soccer, cross-country, or marching band.

Your schedule

Day 1 is the first day of formal practice or conditioning. Anything before that does not count toward the 14 days.
Protective equipment
Regular rest days (no practice)

Rest days do not count toward the 14 days. After 6 practice days in a row, the schedule adds a day of complete rest for you.

Day by day

From day 6 on you can choose a double-practice day. A double-practice day must be followed by a single-practice day or a rest day, so the next day is locked to one practice.

Enter your first practice date to see your schedule.

Check your state association rules

Your state association’s rules may be stricter than this schedule. Check them before you use it, and change the schedule to follow them.
Write the rule name and anything that differs from this schedule.

Review and approval

This schedule is a template. Your athletic trainer and team physician or medical director should review and approve it before the first practice. Enter names now. Signatures go on the printed schedule.

Medical steps should be reviewed and approved by your team physician or medical director.

Download your schedule

Your schedule is created on this device with your school’s name on every page. It is marked as a template for your athletic trainer and medical staff to review. Any blank you skip prints as a line you can fill in by hand.
